An amateur circus competition open to students and emerging practitioners of all ages and levels — the next generation of world-class circus artists.
The New Generation competition is an amateur circus competition open to the general public. It showcases emerging circus arts students and practitioners — from Junior to Adults of all levels — in a variety of circus disciplines.
Competitors are judged by an eclectic panel of circus personalities, and the winner of the New Generation competition is given the unique chance to perform as a guest artist in the professional festival — among a selection of first-class international performers under the Big Top.
The competition also includes workshops and Q&A sessions with industry professionals, offering invaluable learning opportunities for aspiring circus artists at every stage of their development.

Avi Liska won the Gold Award at the 2025 New Generation competition at Lone Star Circus School in Dallas, earning the prestigious opportunity to perform as a guest artist at the professional American CircusFest festival.
Open to circus arts students and emerging practitioners — Juniors to Adults of all levels and disciplines. No professional experience required.
Workshops and Q&A sessions with circus industry professionals provide invaluable insight and mentorship for competing artists.
